About the Partnership

The Partnership serves adults who read  below a 5th-grade level. Adult learners  from the communities in Linn and Benton Counties are called "tutees" or "students." They receive free tutoring and have access to literacy learning materials. We also provide literacy tutoring in Spanish for Spanish speakers.

Our Story

The Linn Benton Community Literacy Partnership began when leaders from local libraries, community organizations and Linn-Benton Community College gathered in 2015 to discuss how, by working together, they could begin to serve the literacy needs of our community. We believe that strong literacy skills are the key to an improved life for many adults - whether it be economic, social or personal betterment.  A grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services during 2019-2021 provided funds to get the Partnership up and running.

Today the Partnership is fully volunteer run, from our tutor trainer to our website upkeep and most especially our volunteer tutors. All donations to the Partnership go to supply books and learning materials used in tutoring.
